You may have heard about a little party we throw every year for our anniversary, where the real highlight is fundraising for the renal department at Texas Children’s Hospital through silent and live auctions, as well as a Rolex raffle. For our 35th anniversary we pulled out all the stops with a Vegas High Roller theme! Over 300 guests enjoyed dancing to a live band and lounging outside in creative spaces decorated by Swift + Co. Keeping with the theme, a showgirl welcomed the crowd and a magician showed off clever card tricks.
“We are in awe,” said Cindy Lewis, second-generation owner. “Our community is one of the most generous donors for the renal department, and that’s why it’s called the Lewis Jewelers Dialysis Unit.”
As always, Lewis Jeweler’s hosted auctions benefiting the Lewis Jewelers Dialysis Unit at Texas Children’s hospital, which featured over 15 pieces of jewelry from Lewis’ top brands and specialty items from local businesses. For the fourth year in a row, Lewis Jewelers ran a raffle through their LD&T Foundation which featured a stainless steel Rolex Submariner, generously donated by Rolex. Guests also entered a raffle for a Tudor Black Bay Burgundy watch when they cashed in their card game chips. Thanks to generous vendors and guests, Lewis beat last year’s record and raised over $90,000 for the renal department at TCH. Doctor Braun and his wife attended the evening, along with former patient and transplant survivor, Leslie, who were overjoyed to see the community’s unity on behalf of the renal department. Another survivor also attended, one eight year old who read a poem to the crowd about his bout with kidney disease.
Every day, and especially on nights like these, we give thanks for the incredible community we belong to in Houston. It is because of the generosity of our clients and vendors that we have raised over $500K to date for the renal department at Texas Children’s Hospital. We cannot thank you enough.1
